End of Second Grade

First Day of Second Grade

Mrs. Bland taught me lots of thing like multiplication and division strategies. She put lots of effort into teaching us new things but math facts really helped me learn. Even when we were airheads you still helped us. I really had fun in Mrs. Bland's class.

The first day of second grade I met so many friends. There names are Shilah, Veronica, Madison, Gloria, Gwen, Aly, and Alyssa. Me and my friends started a club called The Weirdos. In our The Weirdo Club we brought things like treats and activities for everyone. We also did the 100 mile club together. My friendships in second grade made it fun.

I like second grade. My favorite part of second grade was learning about subtracting double and triple digits. We did so many projects in second grade like tear art, butterflies that describe yourself, and the biography report.

Biography Report

Mrs. Bland is the best second grade teacher, ever! Mrs. Bland is very nice even she does fun things for us like going to the computer lab after doing AR Testing. She gave us Bland Bucks if we do our work and listen. I will miss Mrs. Bland and second grade very much.

My Trip to New Orleans

We were at the airport so early many things were closed.When we got in the airport the very first thing is check in, this lets the airline know you will be flying. My mom did electronic check-in.Then when we got in the plane it was very small. We were excited for take off, but the plane was broken. We waited inside the
plane for over two hours. Me and my brother had snacks and some water.

After waiting for two hours the plane finally took off to Denver, Colorado. We missed our connecting flight. So we had to spend the night in Denver, Colorado. We stayed at the Double Tree Hotel, it was a fancy hotel. The hotel gave us free stuff. They gave us (William and me) a coloring book with crayons.They also gave us teddy bears.                                                                             PLANE 2                                                              
The next morning we checked in and left Denver for New Orleans. This plane didn't break down, we were lucky. I got a snack and got to watch TV shows.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

 Day 1 of Mardi Gras                                                                                                                            
We met up with our friends the Moncures and went to Mardi Gras. It was super fun! Parade floats were throwing toys and necklaces. We collect all cool stuff from the floats. We had hot dogs for dinner.

Day 3 of Mardi Gras
It was raining but I scored more toys and beads on this day. I got hit with a football but I had so much fun.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

French Quarter                                                                                          When we were at the French Quarter I bought a mask.We rode down the Mississippi River on a steamboat called Natchez.The boat had a restaurant and we ate red beans and rice, fried fish, salad and bread pudding.On the boat there was a band playing jazz music.

I'd Be Queen

This is all about ants. Being a ant is not easy. You can get squished and it is hard to get food. If I was an ant I'd be queen. I would stay home and have ants give me water and food. If the ants were gone that day I'd be forced to go outside and find water and food. Being a queen ant is a lot easier than being a working ant. Cleary, ants are amazing things.

2. An ant has 6 legs
3. Black and Red ants don't get along
4. An ant can carry 50 times its own body weight.

I Hate Winter

Winter blows snow.  I don't like winter because it is very cold. Winter is a time of the year that animals hibernate like bears and bunnies. Some parts of the earth have snow but where I live it doesn't snow.  Some people are forced to  put on coats, gloves, and boots before going outside. I just have to wear a coat and an extra layer of clothes. Many kids play in the snow by making snowmen, snow angels and having snowball fights but I cozy up by the fire with warm blanket and some hot coco.  Many people love winter but I don't.

The Three Pumpkins

There were three pumpkins in a pumpkin patch. A scarecrow grabbed the pumpkins. A scarecrow carved the pumpkins. The pumpkins didn't want to be carved. The crow saved the pumpkins and glued them back together. The pumpkins were very grateful to be saved. The crow and pumpkins were friends now. They had a promise, the promise was if the scarecrow got the pumpkins the crow would save them again.
